The Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dr. Dritan Abazović, opened the conference organized by the Ministry of Justice, Human and Minority Rights, which was organized with the support of the Office of the United Nations Development Program in Montenegro (UNDP) on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The Draft Strategy for the Protection of Persons with Disabilities from Discrimination and Promotion of Equality 2022-2027 was presented at the conference. Vice President Abazović emphasized the importance of approaching these matters with greater sensitivity in the future. It is our duty to make additional efforts to implement the strategies, while the development of our country should be accompanied by greater inclusion of persons with disabilities, said Abazović. He pointed out that without the inclusiveness of the institutions of the system, one cannot move forward. "We are not inclusive enough not only when it comes to people with disabilities, but as a society in general, which is a stumbling block to integration processes. We must promote universal values, and our moral and human obligation is to protect people with disabilities ", said the Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dr. Dritan Abazović. In addition to Vice President Abazović, the conference was addressed by Daniel Gašparikov, UNDP Resident Representative in Montenegro, Acting Director General of the Directorate for Protection and Equality of Persons with Disabilities, Aleksandra Popovic, Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms, Sinisa Bjekovic, experts participating in the preparation of the document, as well as Executive Director of the Association of Youth with Disabilities of Montenegro, Marina Vuujacic.
